1. The enemy, advancing units into the region of the LANDING broke through the front, cutting off the 92nd Rifle Br. from the 13th Gd. Rifle Div. destroying the central crossing.
2. The army, deflecting the enemy attacks, continued the fulfilment of the tasks of destruction of the enemy, engaging them in the central parts of the city.
I ORDER:
1. 95th Rifle Div. continue the counter-attack in the direction of hill 102.0, KOLODEZNAYA, DNEPROSTROYEVSKAYA St.
Most immediate task: go to the southern bank of the ravine /KOLODEZNAYA st./ Next - seize northern bank of DOLGIY rav. /south. spur/ in the area EL'TONSKAYA, BUDENNOVSKAYA st.
Boundary to the left /esp/ railway.
2. 13th Gd. Rifle Div. continue the fulfillment of the earlier assigned task, destruction of the enemy, active in the centre of the city. Move to the railway line in the region of the meeting of VEDENOVSKAYA & KHOPERSKAYA st. and to the station, at the front to establish close co-operation on the right, with units of 112nd Rifle Div. and 92nd Rifle Br.; and on the left, with units of the 284th Rifle div.

3. 284th Rifle Div. Attack in the sector to the right - the boundary with 13th Gd. Rifle Div., to the left - r. VOLGA.
Task: restore the position in the region of the central crossing and in the mouth....

Hold and defend the sector of the 39th Gd. Rifle reg. 416th Rifle Reg. 112nd rifle Div., forces of the 95th Rifle Div. and parts of the 137th Tank Br. continue the offensive.
BASIS OF RECORD: Combat report No. 129
Units of the army, deflecting severe enemy attacks, conducted bitter streeet-fighting in the NE and central parts of the city. the counterattack undertaken during the day by the 95th and 284th Rifle Div. did not achieve success.
Units of the 13th Gd. Rifle Div. & 92nd Rifle Br. under pressure from considerably superior enemy forces withdrew in units from their positions, sustaining losses from air attacks.
The enemy with a force of an infantry regiment with tank support, attacked the 34th Gd. Rifle Div. Attacks in the direction of DOLGIY & KRUTOY rav. were repulsed. in the second half of the day the enemy renewed attacks attacks with strong air support along TAMBOVSKAYA st. where forward units reached the banks of the VOLGA.
Up to an infantry regiment with tanks attacked along KIEVSKAYA and KURSKAYA st. moving from the region of dom SPETSIALISTOV, attempting to break through to the river VOLGA.
Up to an infantry regiment with tanks /311th Inf. Reg./ attacked along the valley of the river TSARITSA from the region AKHTUB.
South r. TSARITSA up to an infantry regiment /367th Inf. Reg./ attacked on KIM st. in the region of DONSKAYA st. a large accumulation of tanks.
Up to 20 tanks were noticed in the region of Gosbank.
3. In the N. sectors of the front units held the previous frontlines, repulsing attacks of small groups of infantry.
4. 95th Rifle. Div. was twice attacked by the enemy and, at the end of the day, had withdrawn from its former positions along the S and SW slopes of hill 102.0
5. 284th Rifle Div./1045th & 1047th Rifle Reg./ after controlling the advance of the enemy, held DOLGIY rav., the bridge over it, ARTILLERIYSKAYA st. & KRUTOY rav., from ARTILLERIYSKAYA st. to r. VOLGA.
6. 13th Gd. Rifle div.-34th Rifle Reg. sustaining considerable losses, withdrew in the region of 9TH-JANUARY sq. As a result of the combat, units of the 13th Gd. Rifle Div. occupy a front covering KRUTOY rav. 2 NABEREZHNAYA /esp/ 9TH-JANUARY sq, SOLNECHNAYA, KOMMUNISTICHESKAYA, KURSKAYA, /esp/ dom SPETSIALISTOV, ORLOVSKAYA, PROLETKUL'TSKAYA, GOGOLYA, KOMMUNISTICHESKAYA to the r. TSARITSA.
7. During the day's fighting units of the 13th Gd. Rifle Div. & 92nd Rifle Br. sustained heavy losses:up to 200 killed or wounded.
8. 92nd & 42nd Rifle Br., as a result of heavy fighting were forced to retreat....
